Dear Carpenters Families,
Today, we find ourselves living in an unprecedented time. The COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic has, in many ways, temporarily changed life as we knew it. We sincerely hope you and your family are staying safe and healthy during this difficult period.
On a monthly basis, the Fund provides you a Newsletter, which is meant to be concise and to deliver only relevant information on your benefits. This month the Fund believed it was important to both email and mail this particular edition in an effort to emphasize the value of the Newsletter and to detail for you all the communication tools and benefits that are relevant at this time.
Within this newsletter, you will find avenues on how the Fund can help as well as actions we are taking to support our participants in navigating the confusion this virus has caused. With the order passed down by both Governor Wolf and Mayor Kenny, we are limited in our business activity, and we had to close the Fund Office. Please be assured that essential personnel are working remotely and, in some cases, still in the office to ensure your eligibility is maintained; pension, disability, HRA, and vacation payments are processed; benefits are available; and critical information is shared with our participants.
We encourage you to use the communication tools available and suggest you visit the website carpenters.fund, check your email, and follow us through our social media channels for updates. Helping and informing our participants have always been and continue to be top priorities.
Most importantly, please know the Fund Management is in constant communication with your Trustees and brainstorming ideas to help support those who have been impacted by this pandemic. Now more than ever, we believe it to be imperative that the Fund share information electronically so that members receive the most up-to-date material in the quickest avenue possible. Just as you are focused on the safety of your family, we are deeply focused on the safety of our employees and participants. We encourage you to reach out to our providers listed on the newsletter for help during this unparalleled time. We look forward to getting back to normal operating procedures in what we hope is the near future.
Stay safe,
Pete Tonia
