MARCH IS COLON CANCER AWARENESS MONTH

What is Colorectal Cancer?

Colorectal cancer starts as a growth in the inner lining of colon or the rectum.
These cancers can also be named colon cancer or rectal cancer, depending
on where they start. Colon cancer and rectal cancer are often grouped
together because they have many features in common.

Why Get Screened?

Colon cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer.
A simple 5 minute screening test can help you detect and
prevent cancer before any symptoms occur. All men
and women at age 45 and over should begin regular
screening.

Early Detection is Key!

7 out of 10 people diagnosed with colorectal cancer have no symptoms.*

Survival Rates vary drastically depending at which stage cancer is is found. Only 39% of cases are diagnosed in early stages due to low preventative screening rates. Colon Cancer affects men and women equally. Screening is the number one way you can reduce your risk of colon cancer and rectal cancer. Despite its high incidence, colorectal cancer is unique in that it is one of the most preventable and, if found early, most treatable forms of cancer. Do yourself a favor and get screened, It could save your life.
